Hockney-ish Type Photos

Another project has been finished in my digital photography class. These two photos were styled after David Hockney's mosaic photos. I find them very interesting and fun to look at, but recreating this style is time consuming!

David Hockney

For the red door photograph, I stood in one place right outside the door and took as make pictures as I could from that vantage point without moving. Then I pieced all the pictures together like a puzzle and came up with an awesome door! The door itself was only 4 feet away from me, and that side of the house was completely straight, but in this photograph, it appears that the porch is angled. Love it!

Then the second photo was done a little differently. Again, I stood in one spot and took several pictures from that point, but instead of trying to fit the edges together, I changed the opacity of the photographs and stacked them ontop of each other to connect the entire scene. This style of photograph is called panograph. I'm really happy with how these two photos turned out. I can see myself using this style again. Isn't it fun to look it? The only downside is the time it takes to connect all the photographs together.
