Snow Storm

The now famous north eastern snow storm swooped in this  morning confining me to my house since the roads were deemed unsafe and work was cancelled.  I did what I could to break from cabin fever and spent the better part of my morning playing in the snow and taking pictures of obscure objects from my house.  My sister assisted me in the snow and made a fun time of it.  Not typically what I post, but it's nice for a change from time to time.

Emma and Matt {Engagements}

My first session of the year took place on January 1st.  What an excellent way for this beautiful and happy couple to start off the year!  We were right on the Hudson River and it was freezing cold.  Snow was everywhere and the wind was blowing like crazy, but despite the odds, they pulled off warm smiles and a little cuddly love :) They will be married this spring in Utah.  Congratulations to Emma and Matt on their engagement! 

Wring

Since I have been in New York, the weather cannot seem to make up it's mind about the time of year.  Today's high:  55 degrees Fahrenheit.  A week and a half ago it was 28 degrees.  Tomorrow's forecast is 59! On February 1st?  This Saturday it's 41.  I'm thoroughly confused, but enjoy it around here nonetheless.  Here are some shots over the last few days.

Jessi in the Snow

Yesterday was a perfect fall day. Today, the blizzards blew in and everything was completely covered in three inches of snow by 2pm. The sun decided to peak for about an hour and a half, and I ran outside with my friend, Jessi, to get some quick shots. Here are a few. They seem perfect for a Christmas card. Let the holidays begin!

Pano

These are my very first panoramics. They aren't exactly thrilling to look at, but it's my very first time trying it out. It was slightly stressful putting them together but it was amazing to see the final result. These were done using photoshop... I'm still getting used to that program. We had a few outbursts today using it, but in the end we reconciled and the project was completed! Hopefully more panoramics will be coming in the future. They really are brilliant. The final copies are 5" by 21".

Snowed In

Last week it seemed that we had snow storm after snow storm. Despite being snowed in and not being able to drive on the roads, my little sister and I had fun sledding, playing in the snow, and taking lots of pictures. These pictures really can't compare to how beautiful it was after the snowfall, but hopefully you can get an idea. It was absolutely beautiful.

White Christmas

Because my father is back for two weeks from Afghanistan, we had an early christmas this year. Christmas happened to be TODAY! And what a wonderful surprise we had: SNOW. We had ourselves a white christmas this year. These are pictures of the lake near my home. In my personal opinion, the lake is at it's magnificent best during the winter.
