Scanography (I may have made that word up!)

Well, it's been over a month since I've posted on my blog. I've been quite busy. Two weeks ago I had finals for the winter semester and then I headed down to Utah for a week and then the spring semester started up last week. Whew.....I feel like I haven't had a moment to breathe in awhile! These four photographs here were apart of my Digital Photography final. I decided to do scan art again. I found scan art to be fascinating and fun. It's a bit time consuming, but I felt like I was able to really explore and experiment. These four "photographs" are all done with a scanner. I need to get me one of those!!!

This is a shot of my 1953 Exacta 35 mm. My grandfather gave it to me and I'm always afraid to use it because i fear it will break! But I do love it and am so thankful for such a thoughtful gift from my grandfather. It was his very first camera. It cost a whopping $500.00 in 1953. WOW! Expensive even for today! It's still in lovely condition though.

This shot was all made with different fabrics. I love how nicely and funky this one came together.

I always wanted to ride in a fiat 500 the entire time I was living in Italy. My last week in Italy I had my dream fulfilled and drove in a classic FIAT 500 down the autostrada. It was delightful! My dad bought this little model for me to remind me of my time in Italy.

I used an old postcard and an etched print to produce this. It feels like europe to me....which makes me happy. European flare seems to turn up in my artwork all the time. I love it!

I hope you enjoyed these. I'm going to have a lot of interesting photographs up over the next few months. I'm now in a Historical Processes class. In this class I will be producing photographs using 19th and early 20th century photographic processes. Today I did a cyanotype. What fun! I'll get those up as they come. Until then, ciao!!
