Stony Point

Something I absolutely love about New York are all the quaint names of towns and locations laced with history.  Stony Point.  When you read that name don't you just want to go there?  Names like Stony Point or Sleepy Hollow make me wonder why they were named so.  This weekend, I ventured down the Hudson River to a small historical location called Stony Point that holds the oldest lighthouse on the Hudson and a historical battlefield.  We walked through the woods and came up on a hill right along the river.  And despite the clouds and slight breeze, it was a perfectly stunning spot to spend an hour.  Here are a few shots from the little outing.
