In November, I traveled to Hawaii with Matt. It was my first time back to Oahu since I moved from there in 2006. The moment we landed, the warm air, the fragrances, the tastes, everything, came flooding back as if I'd never left. It was a surreal experience for me as I became reacquainted with the island with a man who'd called it home his entire life. It was familiar yet completely new at the same time. And now, with Matt, it'll become a place where I will be often full of family and friends.
